VP of Organizational Development

GFA is seeking a qualified individual to join its Senior Leadership team in the Human Resources department.

As the Vice President of Organizational Development (OD), the right individual will be responsible for managing and supporting the assessment of organizational needs and the design, implementation, and evaluation of programs that facilitate the professional development and continuous learning of team members, particularly executives and emerging leaders.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • This position manages all employees of the OD function (HR Department) and is responsible for supporting leaders in performance management and hiring of all employees for the organization.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Build and develop teams and technology resources to facilitate regulatory compliance, recordkeeping, transaction processing, and analysis of workforce metrics.
  • Assist in assessing OD needs for all departments of the credit union.
  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of training programs, policies, and strategies tailored to meet OD needs and program goals.
  • Implement an end-to-end OD plan to deliver talent acquisition, training compensation, benefits, labor relations, culture enhancement, and employee support services.
  • Evaluate strategies and programs to measure the achievement of established goals.
  • Assist with the provision of expert facilitation and coaching to supervisors and managers regarding OD methods and tools.
  • Provide support to the individual development planning process for executives and emerging leaders.
  • Provide support and resources for department leaders regarding employee mentoring.
  • Prepare budgetary recommendations that meet departmental goals and provide for effective management of resources.
  • Partner with leadership across the organization to provide human resources programs that are aligned with GFA's operational objectives, mission, vision, and values.
  • Develop and maintain a well-rounded workforce by promoting a culture of diversity and inclusion.
  • Provide oversight of the Professional Employer Organization (PEO).

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Model and promote the behaviors of the Credit Union’s core values, actively works to enhance the member and employee experience throughout the Credit Union.
  • Participate in the Credit Union’s Community/Civic Engagement Program, which requires participation in one community event each calendar year.
  • Act as a role model for staff by completing tasks promptly and accurately. Demonstrate a commitment to learning by cross-training on other functions as required.
  • Participate, complete, and attend mandatory training and/or online assignments for regulatory compliance.
  • Adhere to and comply with Credit Union and regulatory agencies (i.e., NCUA, State, Federal) policies and procedures.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Bachelor Degree in Human Resources or a related field or related experience is desired. An advanced degree or certification is a plus.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Excellent presentation and facilitator skills.
  • Ability to evaluate and research training options and alternatives.
  • Adept with a variety of multimedia training platforms and methods.
  • Ability to design and implement practical training and development.
  • Excellent leadership skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Office-based role involves comfortable and safe environment with moderate noise and minimal exposure to hazards.
  • Prolonged sitting, frequent computer use, and occasional repetitive motion of wrists and fingers.
  • Regular communication and handling of light materials are expected.
